Truman & Uptown: Bad El’ Stop & Dangerous Neighborhood

Truman and Uptown received various mentions in the news recently, for having one of the worst elevated-train stations, one of the worst alleys near campus, and an all-around dangerous neighborhood.

Truman College el’-Stop Voted “Crustiest”

One CTA rider commented on the Wilson el’-stop that “It is a urine-soaked, dangerous, disgusting mess of a station. There is no accessibility for the handicapped and [it is] surrounded by vacant and abandoned CTA-owned storefronts. The sad part is, it is the station that connects to Truman College, so you would think the city would want it to be safe.”
